“Education is Broken” is a refrain we keep hearing over and over.
And it is!
Revolutionary Education was written to address the problems of education from a different perspective.
Most of the media talks about the most obvious answers with what is wrong with the education system; low pay for teachers, not enough money, government intervention, “woke” mandates, gender issues, violence, minority problems, critical race theory, the list is endless.
What is forgotten in this scenario is the teacher is the front line in the battle. Individual teachers are ignored in the battle.
Mandates are issued and the teacher is the one who either has to implement the mandate or live with the consequences of a badly misplaced and improperly instituted governmental action.
Issues of equity, systemic racism and white supremacy attempt to be solved using heavy-handed methods or strategies.
Here is what is missing. Teachers are individuals and students are individuals. Yet we treat groups of students (i.e. our… you add the group name…) are underperforming in math or reading. Teachers are expected to teach the same thing at the same time.
All teachers are treated the same, except… there is one group quite effectively silenced.
Those teachers with a Christian worldview are silenced. Even though the original foundation of school was based on the premise of the reality of God and living by those principles, they are now totally subjected to silence.
This book is written with the idea that Christian teachers acting individually with courage can implement, or at least bring attention to, the real issues present.
There are curricular and cultural issues needing to be addressed. Not only are there broad based issues but the very nature of education must stop treating students as part of a group. They are individuals and deserve to be treated as such.
Some of this book may seem to be rather radical. And I suppose it is, but Christian teachers must have the courage to speak up and stand out.
This book can help you get started on that process.
